A bottling line (PET bottle, glass bottle, beverage filling production line) consists of high-speed rotating, conveying, and filling equipment. Unplanned downtime caused by worn, dirty, or improperly stored spare parts is one of the biggest losses for beverage factories. Regular standardized maintenance can effectively extend component service life, stabilize filling accuracy, reduce leakage and rejection rates, and avoid emergency shutdowns.
This checklist covers daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual maintenance, focusing on general line upkeep and professional spare parts management, which is suitable for Krones, Sidel, and other mainstream bottling production lines.
1. Daily Maintenance Checklist
Daily inspection focuses on visual appearance, surface cleanliness, abnormal noise and leakage to eliminate minor faults in advance.
- Cleaning & Sanitation：Clean filling nozzles, conveyor guides, star wheels, and bottle clamps; remove residual beverage liquid, sugar stains and dust to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth.
- Visual Inspection of Wearing Parts：Check key vulnerable spare parts including springs, seals, gaskets, O-rings, buffer pads and friction strips for deformation, aging, cracking or loosening.
- Operation Status Check：Observe equipment running noise, jitter and startup response; confirm no stuck bottle, inaccurate positioning or delayed cylinder action.
- Liquid & Air Leakage Check：Inspect filling valves, pipelines and pneumatic components for air leakage and liquid seepage; tiny leakage will gradually cause pressure instability and filling deviation.
- Spare Parts On-site Check：Confirm the commonly used quick-wear parts in the workshop temporary storage area are complete and dry, with no moisture or oil contamination.
2. Weekly Maintenance Checklist
Weekly maintenance focuses on fastening, lubrication and preliminary wear judgment of components.
- Fastening Inspection：Tighten loose bolts, fixing brackets and sensor mounting parts on the filling machine and conveyor line; vibration during long-term operation easily causes component displacement.
- Lubrication & Grease Replacement：Supplement food-grade lubricating oil for bearings, guide rails, cam mechanisms and rotating joints; clean old deteriorated grease to avoid poor operation and increased wear.
- Wear Measurement & Recording：Check the wear degree of conveyor chain plates, clamping jaws, bottle supporting bases and star wheel accessories; record the wear data for later replacement prediction.
- Pneumatic & Hydraulic System Inspection：Drain water from air filter and oil-water separator; check the aging degree of air pipes and hydraulic hoses.
- Sort Out On-site Spare Parts：Classify and count weekly consumed spare parts, supplement inventory of vulnerable parts such as seals and gaskets in time.
3. Monthly Maintenance Checklist
Monthly maintenance is systematic component detection and performance calibration, which is the core of stable long-term operation of the bottling line.
- Filling Accuracy Calibration：Calibrate filling volume of each filling nozzle to avoid unqualified products caused by valve core wear and spring fatigue.
- Key Spare Parts Aging Assessment：Evaluate the service status of precision parts (valve bodies, valve cores, detection sensors, positioning blocks); replace aging and fatigued parts in advance before failure.
- Transmission System Inspection：Check the tension and wear of belts and chains; adjust tightness and replace severely worn transmission parts to prevent sudden breakage and shutdown.
- Clean Precision Components：Disassemble and clean fine structures such as filling valves and flow meters to avoid scale and impurity accumulation affecting equipment precision.
- Spare Parts Management：Check the storage environment of special spare parts (seals, rubber parts, precision accessories); ensure constant temperature, dryness and dust-free storage, and avoid long-term light exposure and extrusion deformation.
4. Quarterly Maintenance Checklist
- Full Line Wear Parts Replacement Inspection：Uniformly replace all parts that have reached the service cycle (rubber parts, seals, buffer components, friction accessories).
- Mechanical Position Calibration：Calibrate the horizontal level of the conveyor line, the opening and closing stroke of the clamping jaws, and the synchronization of the star wheel and the dial to ensure stable bottle feeding and discharging.
- System Pressure Test：Test the working pressure of pneumatic and hydraulic systems to eliminate hidden dangers of pipeline aging and pressure drop.
- Spare Parts Inventory Optimization：Count slow-moving and obsolete spare parts, update the spare parts list, and match the actual consumption law of the production line.
5. Annual Maintenance Checklist (Overhaul)
